Design of Landslide Remediation
Poruba, Michal ; Glisníková, Věra (referee) ; Boštík, Jiří (advisor)
Main goal of thesis entitled "Landslide remediation design" is - based on acquired knowledge and submitted documents about the problematic of landslides - to determine the causes of the landslides on II. class road between villages Koryčany and Jestřabice and to propose optimal redevelopment.
Prefabricated reinforced concrete structures industrial hall with administration
Sitta, Martin ; Šulák, Pavel (referee) ; Zlámal, Martin (advisor)
As the main topic this thesis describes the design and evaluation of selected reinforced concrete members of the prefabricated reinforced concrete industrial building with administration at ultimate limit state in accordance with applicable standards. Movable overhead crane with carrying capacity of 50 tons is the main distinction of the industrial hall. Lateral frame whit main structural parts which are roof prestressed girder, load-bearing column supporting the overhead crane and drilled pile transferring loads from the upper construction to the load bearing subsoil, is designed in particular. Furthermore, design of the Gerber beam which forms the slab construction in the administrational part of the building is elaborated. Structural design and evaluation of other structures of the building is not part of this thesis.
Programming of the ELSM method for the advanced stability analysis of geotechnical structures
Štetiar, Juraj ; Koudela, Pavel (referee) ; Chalmovský, Juraj (advisor)
This master's thesis addresses the issue of slope stability, which is a key task in the design of geotechnical structures. The study focuses on the Enhanced Limit Strength Method (ELSM), which leverages the advantages of the Finite Element Method (FEM) while allowing the control of the position and shape of the slip surface. ELSM is particularly advantageous for addressing the stability of embankments and aerial slopes of earth-filled water reservoirs. The objective of the thesis is to develop an algorithm for the ELSM method as an additional module for existing FEM solvers. The theoretical part of the thesis explains the principles of commonly used slope stability calculation methods, such as the Limit Equilibrium Method (LEM) and the Strength Reduction Method (SRM). Subsequently, the principles of the ELSM method (determining the factor of safety for the critical slip surface) are introduced, and the optimization algorithm Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is briefly described. In the practical section of the thesis, the programmed algorithm for slope stability calculation using the ELSM method with the utilization of the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) optimization module is explained. The correctness of the algorithm is verified, and a comparison with the SRM and LEM methods is conducted through three verification studies, including a simple homogeneous slope, a heterogeneous slope with a horizontal material interface, and a real case study assessing the external stability of the dam structure at the Vlachovice waterworks.
